None Shall Pass
From the B’ham News:
Sen. Jeff Sessions’ interest in border security was highlighted again this week on the Senate floor when he suggested Congress spend $1.8 billion on double-layered fencing and vehicle barriers along the Mexican border.
His idea was rejected 71-29, probably because it would have reduced other Homeland Security funding by over five percent.
I know that money is tight; there are a lot of petting zoos out there. The problem with Sessions’s amendment, though, was that it does not go far enough. Had Sessions included a moat with alligators in it, or some french guys to fart in the general direction of Mexico, I would have supported his amendment.
