Hispanic Codes

Back in August I posted about Huntsville’s attempt to preserve and protect our white culture and heritage regulate illegal immigration:

[The proposed ordinance] would, among other things, deny business permits to any business that hires an illegal – whether knowingly or not; prohibit illegals from leasing or renting property; and fine anyone who rents to an illegal – whether knowingly or not -$500 a day. The council considered it last week, and decided to take some time to further study the issue.

As I explained here, Huntsville and several other cities around the country cut and pasted the ordinance – and the “factual findings” underlying it – from a sorry ass racist  p.o.s. grassroots organization in California.

Huntsville delayed a vote on the ordinance so they could “study” it further. Hazelton, Pennsylvania, though, adopted it. And starting today, they get to go to court to defend it.

I’m no immigration lawyer, but based on what little I know, I expect the City to lose. The feds have exclusive jurisdiction over immigration, and it is hard to see the ordinance as anything other than an attempt to regulate immigration.

Of course, none of this directly impacts Huntsville. The ordinance is the same, but unless the Hazelton case goes to the Supreme Court, the result will not be binding down here. Still, federal courts like to walk in lock-step, so if Hazelton loses, I would be very surprised to see Huntsville adopt this ordinance.

Oh yeah, on a related note:

The Ku Klux Klan, which just a few years ago seemed static or even moribund compared to other white supremacist movements such as neo-Nazis, has experienced a surprising and troubling resurgence due to the successful exploitation of hot-button issues including immigration, gay marriage and urban crime. Klan groups have witnessed a surprising and troubling resurgence by exploiting fears of an immigration explosion, and the debate over immigration has in turned helped to fuel an increase in Klan activity, with new groups sprouting in parts of the country that have not seen much activity.

Same great hate; new, lighter-skinned people to blame for our personal insecurities!

huntsville needs to do more than preserve the rule of law (often derisively referred to as white culture) they need to implement a shoot to kill policy. thugs have ruined huntsville. its not even safe to go to church, much less work at a convenience store. Kill em all I say!!

If you are an American and want America to be a great place for Americans you are often portrayed as racist. This isn’t about race it’s about economics. Supply and demand. For those of us who have no wealth our only resource is our labor. Supply and demand again, a flood of illegal workers increases the supply of labor and steals my wages. everyone focuses on stock prices..well most people in America live off their wages at least in their younger years. What is good for most Americans is higher wages. Even the guy at the car wash or at the restaurant needs money. More tax money collected from higher wages goes to govenment. Also wages usually get recirculated in the local economy. It does little local good for a stock investor to make money that he in turn invests in making China or Mexico great countries. Slavery also was not about race. People bought slaves to have a source of cheap labor. Just like the Chinese were brought in to build the railroads the Irish had started wanting more money for their labor. America has had a constant hunger for cheap labor and Mexicans are just the most recent of a long list of exploited people. Remember it is not race it is economics. Lawyers would be the first to raise hell if a bunch of Mexican ,Indian or Chinese lawyers started working for $10/hour. Well unless you had already made your money and wanted to hire a bunch of cheap lawyers so that you could get rid of the more expensive ones. Then the Wall Street Journal would talk about what a great CEO you were for cutting personnel expenses.

Would you say, then, that it is employers (big and small) who whire illegal immigrants for cheaper wages who don’t want American to be a great place for Americans?

“What is good for most Americans is higher wages.” I couldn’t agree more. How do you feel about a minimum wage increase?

  5. sailer Says:

Employers who hire illegals are the problem. A lot of middle class jobs have fallen out of the middle class due to cheap labor. A lot of lower class jobs have disappeared. When I was growing up textile mills were the bedrock of many small town economys. Most of those mills are now closed. All of those lost wages supported the towns. The service sector jobs often pay even less than unskilled factory jobs. My wife knows a woman whose husband is a chicken packing plant supervisor. He said that he could operate without illegals. They would have to pay more to get native Alabamians to do the work and they want to keep wages low. People tend to forget that “labor Costs” is the money that stays local to support local businessess and pays taxes and builds homes. Profits paid to stockholders can go anywhere and are often reinvested in ways that are contrary to local interests. Profits reinvested in China or Mexico increase the competiton for American jobs. This makes it even harder for a worker to live a decent life from the fruit of their labor.

Very well said sailer!!! Why as Americans must we justify our laws. Anyone remember 9/11. A couple of the people that bombed the WTC in 1993 were let into this country and given amnesty back in 1986. Increases to minimum wage helps some but if you have a excess labor force wages will remain low. I object to anyone who is in this country illegally I don’t care where you are a national. Does that make me a racist??? I think not.

  7. wheeler Says:

you people are insane. so some guy comes over here without stopping to fill out the proper paperwork first? bfd.

your reactions are out of proportion to the problem. which, of course, leads me to wonder what is actually causing your anger.

and the 9/11 thing? give me a break. that’s just stupid.

  8. Gail Says:

So wheeler let everyone in ??? Forget our laws , forget the Constitution, No big deal huh?? Well 12 to 20 million people in this country that we obviously have no idea about whether criminals, gang members, child molesters or what I have a problem with that picture. Being concerned for the future and our children is what adults are supposed to do. You are an adult wheeler right??? Or are you illegally in this country??? That could explain it all anyone who cares about the United States and it’s future care about these things.

The condition of this country is a product of it’s past and present citizens mixed with the country’s natural resources. This wealth is divided by the population. The same is true of every country. Mexico is a very wealthy country in natural resources. Their population is exploding but that is their choice. If americans choose to have smaller families with better opportunity it isn’t right for other countries to have huge families and export them to america. China or India could send enough people to double our population with no noticeable effect on their own population. Mexico can do the same thing over time. At some point all people on earth must have some sort of family planning. Look back at Germany, Hitler whinned that Germans needed living space too many Germans not enough space….but at the same time Hitler was giving away prizes to German women for having lot’s of children. Things will never get better in Mexico until they have effective family planning. No matter how much wealth a nation has if it is divided amongst enough people you have poverty. The frontiers are gone there isn’t any wild and free country for excess populations to move into unpopulated areas. Even in Hitler’s day the Russians objected strongly to Germans taking over Russia. Americans have every right to want America to be the best possible country for Americans. Mexicans or whoever should try to make their own countries great places to live. But without family planning we will all be living in poverty or starving. At some point we must say that there are enough humans on the planet. Hopefully it will be soon, this is the ultimate test of humanity..are we rational enough to limit our own population or will starvation, disease and war do it for us???
