George Bush Is A Genius

If a foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds, then W’s mind is huge indeed. First he stayed the course until he never did. Now this.

The president on Tuesday:

BUSH: Let me start with the least. I don’t like the tone in Washington, D.C. I feel like that the politics has gotten ugly, and that tends to discourage people around the country. And that’s just too bad.

And then yesterday, which was Wednesday, the day after Tuesday:

BUSH: However they put it, the Democrat approach in Iraq comes down to this: The terrorists win and America loses. . . .

BUSH: In all these vital measures for fighting the war on terror, the Democrats in Washington follow a simple philosophy: Just say no. When it comes to listening in on the terrorists, what’s the Democratic answer? Just say no. When it comes to detaining terrorists, what’s the Democrat answer?

AUDIENCE: Just say no!

BUSH: When it comes to questioning terrorists, what’s the Democrat answer?

AUDIENCE: Just say no!

BUSH: When it comes to trying terrorists, what’s the Democrat’s answer?

AUDIENCE: Just say no!

Right. The president think’s it’s important to have civilized discussions. Except when he is cheerleading a bunch of slavish nitwits as they caricature and insult the opposing party. Politicians, got to love them.

  1. This is the guy who allowed despicable push polling in South Carolina to beat McCain, does anybody take that first quote seriously?

  2. Mark Says:

The first quote was just a little warming up of the irony machine.

  3. Kathy Says:

I’m beginning to think W is so delusional that he really believes what he says. Delusional is the only explanation for his comment that Rumsfeld is doing a “fantastic” job.

  4. JPW Says:

Christopher Hitchens (wanker even though he’s bagging on Bush now) did say on CNN the other day re: Bush’s remark that Rumsfeld is doing a “fantastic job”, that “fantastic” is a derivitive of “Fantasy”.

    So Bush was kinda right.

  5. […] The president warned us that if we elected Democrats, the terrorists would win. I guess this is the first step. I suppose it will also lead the realization of Sessions’ prediction that the entire population of South America, and then some, will soon be entering the United States.
