The New Header

It could be entitled, “Who’s more foolish? The fool or the dog who follows him?” The fool is me, the dog is mine. We’re in the Sipsey Wilderness, crossing Hagood Creek above where it merges with Braziel Creek. These were the first steps of this trip.

The rationale for the change: 1) tired of the old standard header; 2) this picture is a nice contrast to the industrial/urban ideas presented by the vulcan picture; 3)  it fits well into the rectangular space.

So what say you? Good? Bad? Indifferent? Can you still read the title? Is having a picture of yourself as the header on your blog an indication that you are entirely too self absorbed?

I love the pic — you’re nuts; your dog is loyal.

    I like the rural look.

Your poor, sweet dog is the fool here. She’s known you long enough to know better. Did your wife take that pic? If so, she’s clearly the smart one. I like the pic.

yes, she took it. but i dispute your conclusion that she was “clearly the smart one.”

we had two choices: 1) wade through creek, or 2) walk across log. she took the first, but in so doing guaranteed wet feet. i took the second, which gave me a chance to stay totally dry, but carried the corresponding risk that i could get my entire self wet. so i guess she was the more conservative of the two of us.

not that that means she isn’t usually the smarter one.

as for the dog, i don’t know if it was loyalty, ignorance, or the fact that her food was in my pack.

btw, did i hear that you just took the lsat? if so, you’ve done the worst part of the whole legal education thing.

As for your wife being the smart one – I will always be biased. Also, you didn’t just risk getting wet, you risked bruises or even broken limbs. However, I probably would have gone the same way.

Took the test two weeks ago. Certainly wasn’t fun. We’ll see how it goes.
