King, Riley Decide To Stop Wasting Our Resources
The B’Ham News reports:
Gov. Bob Riley and Attorney General Troy King decided Wednesday they would stop fighting legislators’ attempts to send millions in grants to education projects in their districts.
The governor and attorney general said they won’t ask the Alabama Supreme Court to reconsider its unanimous ruling upholding legislators’ community service grants.

You mean they’re not going to ask the court to reconsider their unanimous decision? “I know all 9 of you guys all said I was wrong based on our arguments. But could you maybe reconsider it until 5 of you change your minds?”

I hear that Mark Monteil may revive this issue using a different line of legal argument from the one Riley/King used.
